Meet Jane

Mental Health Occupational Therapist

Jane is an experienced Occupational Therapist working in mental health and psychosocial disability. Working in mental health has been a natural fit for Jane, reflecting her longstanding curiosity about people, their experiences and what shapes the way we understand ourselves and the world around us.

Her approach is person-centred, strengths-based, recovery-oriented and holistic. Jane recognises that mental health can affect many aspects of everyday life — including routines, relationships, self-care, motivation, emotional regulation, community participation and our sense of identity, purpose and connection.

She believes that developing greater self-understanding can be an important part of recovery. Life experiences can sometimes change the way we see ourselves or leave us feeling disconnected from who we are and what matters to us. Jane works alongside people to make sense of their experiences, recognise their strengths and vulnerabilities, and explore what may be getting in the way of living the life they want.

Her approach is grounded in genuine connection and curiosity. Rather than focusing only on difficulties or limitations, Jane seeks to understand the whole person — what matters to them, what gets in the way, and what can realistically help.

Through occupational therapy, she works collaboratively with people and their support networks to develop practical, individualised strategies that support meaningful and sustainable change. Her goal is to support people to build greater self-understanding, confidence, choice and participation in everyday life, while recognising that there is no single way to live a meaningful life.

Jane provides trauma-informed, neuro-affirming and LGBTQIA+ inclusive care and offers both in-person and telehealth occupational therapy. She works with adults across a range of mental health and psychosocial presentations, tailoring her approach to each person's needs, strengths, circumstances and goals.
